I've come to realize there is nothing more attractive than a
man who can get a baby to sleep at 1 AM.
Nothing. Sleep has become a
pretty big deal in our house.
Luckily, Amelia is starting to find herself a schedule and she often wants to
sleep for a four hour stretch at night. Since she’s so persistent about this, we’re happy to
oblige. She prepares for this by
eating every 45-60 minutes for the three hours prior to her stretch of sleep,
but a girl has got to take what she can get, right? Tom has also become the go-to person when Amelia has trouble
getting back to sleep. She
snuggles in, and somehow he gets her to fall back to sleep. Everybody with a baby should have their
own baby whisperer, but don’t call mine.
He’s busy.
The last two weeks have been good. It's CRAZY to think she's 4 weeks old already! Amelia started eating like a horse and growing like a
weed. Our very non-scientific
bathroom scale estimates that Amelia weighs somewhere between 8 ½ lbs and 9
lbs. Not bad considering that she was just back to her birth weight a little
over a week ago. Her little face
is filling out, and she’s much more alert than she used to be. She's also started to outgrow some of her newborn clothes, which is a little bittersweet!
Amelia attended her first party on Superbowl Sunday. Our friends aren’t quiet, but Amelia
pretty much slept through the entire event. Apparently, I need to record the guys so she has a nice
background drone to sleep to at home!
We’ve started using a Maya wrap (a ring sling) with Amelia
that our friends Kelli and Erich bought us. The first time we used it, Amelia was NOT a fan. The second and third times have gone
much better. The best part about
the Maya wrap is it that Amelia gets to be held, which she thinks she needs
when she’s awake, but I can get at least something done. I was going stir crazy! There’s only so much daytime tv a
person can watch. :)
Here are the many photos from the last two weeks!

Uncle Tim drove up from Texas to meet Amelia
Jenay, Declan, and Braelyn drove over to visit.
Daddy dressed Amelia up in her 0-3 month ISU gear.
She was a little ticked off when we lost...
Happy Valentine's Day! Amelia is sporting the tutu that Jenay brought her. Uber Cute!
Amelia's cute headband from the Gents.
The Byersdorfers sent Amelia a whole lot of bows. She just HAD to try some of them out!
She just keeps getting cuter and cuter!!! Does Tom whisper to 2 year olds??? If so send him our way! Love the headband and bows and she is on ADORABLE Cyclone fan!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! If Tom whispered to 2 year olds I'd definitely be hiring him out. I'm hoping his skills evolve as Amelia gets older! :)
